Dear Emma,
There was laughter in your room tonight. After celebrating Maddie’s birthday the four of us found ourselves in you room. Someone had left the light on and we all slowly found the curiosity to go in your room. Mom and Big Mae sat on the floor while Little Mae and me sat on the old couch from the bonus room that has somehow found it’s home in there.
Our moment was sweet, full of love, and comprised of the purest joy and laughter. Little Mae said something silly and sneaky at the same time and our belly laughs erupted and filled your room.
I felt you there. You were with us. I could have never imagined this, but the five of us found a moment of levity and joy in your room. We still miss you like we’ve never missed anything before, but we’ve found a place to settle where we can sit in your room as a family and laugh together.
Love,
Dad
